Between November 18th and December 22nd, the Children's Museum in Bucharest hosts a special event for kids and their families: 'Winter Magic.' The event introduces an innovative concept: Sock Skating, where kids can enjoy skating in socks.

Winter Magic with sock skating
Children aged 3 to 12 can explore 5 captivating thematic areas, including 'Around the World in Customs and Traditions' and 'Toy Factory.' The circuit features an indoor carousel and specific winter atmospheric phenomena.
The eco-friendly Waterboyz ice rink complements the magical winter setting, allowing kids to have fun and glide without wearing skates. The smooth surface of the eco ice rink mixed with soft socks creates an environment that relieves the pressure of balancing on skates or experiencing painful falls.
How to skate with socks on the eco ice rink?
The eco ice rink consists of special panels that mimic the appearance of an ice rink. No water or electricity is used to operate it; instead, it's made of high-density polyethylene with a lifespan of up to 20 years. For sock skating, we recommend wool and cotton socks (they work best). Avoid socks with anti-slip features as they will hinder sliding.
What is sock skating?
For skating enthusiasts seeking a more accessible and enjoyable alternative, sock skating has proven to be the perfect choice for moments of joy and excitement.
Sock skating is an innovative way to experience the sensation of skating without the need for ice and skates. With the help of socks and an eco ice rink, children can glide easily, capturing the pleasure of ice skating in a practical and fun manner.
